Syd the Food Therapist

hi! I’m syd (she/her).

A young woman with blonde hair, tattoos on her arms, and jewelry, smiling and holding a white mug with a red heart, sitting at a gray marble table in an indoor setting.

Combining my scopes of practice as a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Clinical Social Worker (RSW, MSW), I offer folks across Québec and Saskatchewan multi-faceted support in navigating their physical, mental, and emotional health journeys.

In today’s world, where disordered eating is glamorized and the thin ideal is shoved in our faces, navigating your relationship with food and body can feel impossible. I aim to empower people with the knowledge, skills, and compassion required to heal these relationships.

In the six years that I have been doing this work, I have remained passionate about supporting communities who are often overlooked in conversations about food and body. I work to ensure my practice is trauma-informed, anti-racist, 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly, fat-positive, and neurodiversity-affirming.

how can i help?

I use a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to support people dealing with:

  • Eating disorders/disordered eating

  • Body image struggles

  • Binge eating and/or emotional eating

  • Chronic health conditions (PCOS/PMOS, Type 2 Diabetes, Dyslipidemia, etc.)

  • Mental health concerns affecting nourishment (depression, anxiety)

  • Eating challenges related to neurodiversity

  • Weight stigma and discrimination

  • Trauma (individual, systemic, and intergenerational)

  • Relational conflict
